Writer. Poet. Educator.
Siobhan Casey is a devoted writer, artist, and educator living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. To write is to distill and express what makes us human: compassion, joy, authenticity, and interconnectedness with the natural world.
A Little Background:
Siobhan Casey earned her MFA from Chatham University in 2011, with a focus in Poetry and Creative Nonfiction. At Chatham, she worked on the Fourth River Literary Journal and later as an editor for Weave Magazine. Since then, she has been integrating her love of the written word into community-building and inclusive elementary education endeavors. She published her first chapbook, Three Fourths of a Dream, in 2016. Her second collection of poetry is forthcoming in August 2026 through Finishing Line Press.
Siobhan’s poetry confronts personal and societal chaos and darkness with the light of storytelling, imagination, and introspection. She ascribes to Cormac McCarthy’s philosophy: “Keep a little fire burning; however small, however hidden…”
